Why Use a Laser Engraver for Awards & Trophies?
Laser engraving has deep roots in the awards industry, with Epilog systems evolving alongside the shift from simple nameplates to fully customized recognition products. Today’s award shops rely on laser technology to produce detailed, consistent engraving across a wide range of materials and product types.
From corporate recognition awards and academic plaques to sports trophies, medals, name badges, and donor walls, laser systems give shops the flexibility to handle diverse jobs without changing equipment. One system can support everyday engraving as well as complex, custom award production.
Compared to rotary and mechanical engraving, laser engravers offer faster setup, greater design flexibility, and the ability to work across wood, acrylic, coated metals, and more. Personalization is straightforward, whether producing a single custom award or running hundreds of engraved pieces.

How Laser Engraving Awards & Trophies Works
Step 1 – Design Your Award Artwork
Create your layout in CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator, or similar graphics software. Include text, logos, and variable data such as names, dates, and titles for personalized awards and recognition products.
Step 2 – Set Up Material and Laser Settings
Place your plaque, trophy plate, or award material into the laser system, set focus, and select appropriate engraving settings such as speed, power, and DPI. Once dialed in, these settings can be reused for consistent results across repeat jobs.
Step 3 – Print to the Laser and Engrave
Send the job to the laser directly from your design software, confirm placement using the system’s positioning tools or camera, and start engraving. The laser follows your artwork to produce clean, permanent marks on the material.
